General Surgeon Needed for Locum Tenens Coverage at Facility in Eastern North Carolina

A health system is seeking a General Surgeon for locum tenens coverage.The facility is located in Eastern North Carolina.This opportunity includes two coverage blocks: April 18th at 7:00 AM to April 21st at 7:00 AM and April 25th at 7:00 AM to April 28th at 7:00 AM. The position involves both inpatient and outpatient care with night and weekend call coverage at an established practice alongside an existing surgeon. The facility handles approximately 65 surgical cases per month, with required ICU/critical care procedures, though the locum will not respond to codes. The support team includes two MDs and one nurse, and the emergency department has a total of nine beds. Weekend coverage does not require colonoscopy procedures. The facility features three ORs, a nine-bed ED, a four-bed fast track, and a 49-bed inpatient hospital. Common procedures include appendectomy, cholecystectomy, bowel obstructions, I&D, EGD, amputation, colonoscopy, and strangulated hernia repair.
